Who We Are

The Mariemont School Foundation (MSF) is an independent non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) established in 1996 by dedicated parents and residents. They recognized that our school district needed private funding to support initiatives that enhance our children's educational experience.

The Foundation's first major project was collaborating with the Boosters to renovate Kusel Stadium. This included adding a press box, restrooms, a concession stand, and turf at the high school. Since then, the Foundation has also helped renovate the Natatorium and various auditoriums and gyms throughout the District.

Over time, the Foundation realized it needed to take on a broader role. We aim to raise funds continuously to preserve and enhance educational excellence in the Mariemont School District. Today, we support a wide range of initiatives that contribute to a well-rounded educational experience. We partner with the School District to identify key projects that enhance academic performance, as well as support arts and athletics programs.

In 2015, the Foundation and the Mariemont Alumni Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding to merge the two organizations. This led to the creation of the Alumni Association Committee, chaired by a Foundation Trustee who is also a Mariemont High School alumnus. This merger allows both organizations to work more effectively towards their missions. The Alumni Association Committee focuses on building connections among Mariemont alumni through local events, reaching out to non-local alumni, and leveraging these relationships to support the overall mission of the Foundation.

Making An Impact

MSF directs its funding efforts toward three key pillars.

MSF provides financial support to fund educational initiatives and programming.

  • Intersession: MHS students participate in a 3-day teacher designed experience, college explorations or career experienceships to build critical thinking skills, global competence and self-awareness.
  • Expeditions: 7th + 8th grade students have a unique opportunity for interest-based, experiential learning.
  • Explorations: 5th + 6th grade learners choose experiential learning sessions based on their passions and interests.
  • Mission BEyond: K-4th grade students are introduced to Warriors BEyond through in class experiences intended to amplify their curriculum.
  • Capital Investments: StarLab - a portable, inflatable planetarium that brings science lessons to life and keeps K-12 students engaged - and 3D printers for all four District buildings.

MSF funding helps provide mental health resources that impact all grade levels and buildings within the District.

  • Child Focus: MSF has provided financial support for Child Focus mental health therapist retention, ensuring students and families have the consistent resources they need to manage stresses and challenges.
  • Sensory Rooms: MSF funding has enabled upgrades for the mental health sensory rooms at MHS and MJHS as well as the creation of sensory rooms at ME and TPE.

MSF funding helps support students’ college preparation and career planning.

  • College Test Prep: MHS Juniors can participate in an ACT test preparation course provided at no cost throughout the school year. Meeting twice a week, students are taught skills and strategies to excel on the exam. Higher ACT scores can open doors for college options and scholarships, empowering students to pursue their academic and career goals with confidence.
